Background: Suzume seems to be a largely apathetic soul. The main source of excitement in its life is when its trainer stops asking it to do things, and the reason why it went with Chie is perhaps simply because it was bored. There's one thing it can work up the energy to be interested in, however, and that may very well be underwater basket-weaving.
